  • 1. Order Northern Host hosting account. Order Here.

  • 2. Receive your welcome email from us with your account information.

    • Please note: Your account will be setup after your first payment has successfully completed.
  • 3. Backup all files and databases from your old hosting account (Full backups) to ensure no data loss. Be sure to write down any and all email addresses, sub-domains, addon-domains, parked domains, cron jobs, etc.

    • Please note: We are not responsible for any data loss incurred if you have chosen to perform the transfer process yourself.
  • 4. Copy files to your new hosting account with us.

  • 5. Make sure everything is up and running correctly by going to "http://serverIPaddress/~yourusername/" (replacing items respectively with your server IP and account username).

  • 6. Change nameservers for domains being moved at your current domain registrar. Northern Host is a domain registrar and will gladly host and manage your domain at no additional cost besides the normal yearly cost of the domain itself..

  • 7. Wait for DNS propagation to complete. This process is usually completed within 12 to 24 hours, but please wait up to 48 hours.

  • 8. Cancel old hosting account if you wish.

    • Please note: We are not responsible for your old hosting account if you wish to keep it open or any charges that occur from your old hosting company. We say this as it has been an issue in the past for those who forgot to close there account with their old host and were billed by them accordingly.
